We are moving from our Minnesota base to Wellington, FL area October 1, 2020. Come join us for the winter circuit or join our farm year round at our great facility. We have two rings, 18 paddocks, 54 stalls just 6 miles from WEF.
We have had a great summer at Raven Ridge Farm in Minnesota. We sold our Florida farm and purchased a new farm. The new farm in Loxahatchee is much more conveniently located to Wellington. We have 10 stalls there already but will build more barns as well. We have a great group of horses and clients right now and are finishing our show season and looking forward to a couple months at home.
Horses are in the new farm in Florida. We have had our first sale of the season already and are hopeful of more to come! Come visit us or send your sale horse to us to sell!
Raven Ridge Farm had an incredible Maffitt Lake Spring Gathering Horse Show! On the professional days, Easy Street HU won all the over fences in the High PreGreens and was only beat over fences in the Pregreen Classic by stablemate Dalton. In addition to Dalton winning the Pregreen Classic, he was also Reserve Champion his 1st time out in the PreGreens. Santinero was Champion in the Green Division winning all his over fences and was 2nd in the hack. Philadelphia also make a clean sweep of his division over fences securing the Championship in the Low Hunters. Rumors Fly won two classes on Friday with this week being his debut in the 3′ hunters. He won Kim’s Most Improved Award of the week!
Andy was Champion on Sylvester in the 1.10m who was also Reserve Champion in the High Adult Jumpers with Anne Meyer. Andy was clean in every 1st round on Moonshine Bay from 1.1 to 1.25m this week.
Friday 13th (also a full moon with 20 mph winds and 40 degrees) was the exciting C/A Handy Challenge. Cindy Bulwicz had one error in an otherwise incredible round which secured her a 2nd place in this class. Cindy went on to win 4 consecutive over fences in the Adult Hunters to be Champion as well as finishing 2nd in the Classic. She was also able to begin showing Dalton with some beautiful (on concourse) classes.
Sharon Golden with Dark Chocolate had a very handy ride in the J/AO Handy Challenge finishing in 2nd. She had a very solid week in the A/O’s and is excited to be competing her 17 yr old partner in this division.
Sara North had an incredible week considering her 40 yr hiatus from showing. She started by winning the 1st class she entered which was the all day warmup. She went on to be Champion in the 2′ Special on that day and continued her winning ways by dominating the Rusty Stirrup winning 3 of 4 of the over fences and securing Champion.
Quinn Leslie rejoined Raven Ridge this week to work as both a working student as well as to show her sister’s hunter Smoke and Mirrors in the AO Hunters. She worked outrageous hours and still rode well enough to be 2nd in the A/O classic!
The Grand Prix was also stellar. Andy rode Luxius to a solid 4 fault round in the $30,000 class. Both Fiddy Cent and Rival put in clear first rounds. Fiddy Cent was double clean finishing in 3rd place and Rival had 4 faults after trying to go for a conservative double clean which put him in 8th place.
We are all looking forward to better weather next week but hope the horses are all as great!
We just returned from a very cold and rainy Midstates Spring Show. The Urban Family did a very good job running this horse show despite the difficult weather. Raven Ridge had a great show including Andy not only winning but also coming in 2nd in the USHJA National Hunter Derby. Indigo Girl was champion in the Performance Hunters. Anne Meyer’s horse Sylvester won every class he entered with both Andy and Anne including the Child/Adult Classic. Dark Chocolate won a class with Sharon Golden made huge progress over the weekend. The Barb Ahrens Memorial Grand Prix was the highlight of the weekend with Kim and Rival winning and Luxius and Andy finishing 4th. We are looking forward to heading to Maffitt Lake for two weeks.
Welcome to our new website! Raven Ridge Farm is busy on all fronts. We are welcoming our fabulous new assistant trainer and manager Michelle Klettke to Raven Ridge Farm. Michelle has extensive show experience in the hunters, jumpers and equitation. She has relocated from Chicago to join our team. Raven Ridge Farm South is coming along quickly and will be open for business this fall. We will use one barn exclusively for our customer and sale horse and we will rent the other 14 stall barn out to another trainer. We have welcomed our first foal of the year by Diarado out of Adele and are looking forward to two more foals this year. Finally, we are preparing to show at Midstates Horse Shows in April and Maffit Lake Equestrian for two weeks in May.
